I'm not your boyfriend

I'm not your boyfriend

I'm not your boyfriend, baby,
I ain't your cute little sex toy,
I'm not your lion or your tiger,
Won't be your nasty little boy,
I'm not your boyfriend, baby,
I can't grant your every wish,
I'm not your knight in shining armor,
So, I just leave you with this kiss

You can catch me on the speedtrain,
Beeper in a three-way,
Shinin' with the gleam chain,
And your honey givin' me brain,
You can catch me watchin' AI,
(?) It's game time,
Pinkie with the same shine,

You know I rep' this shit,
I gots it tatted on my skin,
If you fuckin' with my city,
Then you fuckin' with my kin,
You know I rep' this shit,
I got my hands up on your chest,
Motherfuckers best believe it,
That you're fuckin' with the best

I ain't your cute little sex toy,

Flynn

Flynn

I was 28 weeks into a seemingly normal pregnancy when a routine visit to the midwife caused alarm as my blood pressure was quite high. I was taken into my local hospital in Ashford and monitored. I stayed in for 4 days and was given medication to control my blood pressure. I was allowed home for the weekend on condition I had alot of rest. I returned on the Monday and when checked my blood pressure was even higher and increasing. I was put on immediate bed rest and a different medication but was told all was well and I would probably have to spend the next couple of months in hospital.
Later that night a nurse put a trace on my baby and she became so concerned that a doctor was called and before I knew it I was being wheeled to theatre for an emergency cesarean under general anaesthetic. Not quite the water birth I had planned!! It was very frightening and my husband was told that there was only a 30% chance our little one would make it. Flynn was born weighing 2lb 2oz and was rushed to the neonatal ward to be stabilised and then they would drive him to the nearest hospital with an intensive care bed which luckily was only half an hour away. My husband followed the ambulance and my mum stayed with me. I was just in shock at that point and didn't see my son until 3 days later when my mum had to drive me to the hospital as no ambulance was available to take me.
When I saw him I really thought there was no way he would survive. I had never seen anything so small and the intensive care ward is just that, a very intense place. Lots of noise and staff busy keeping these precious lives safe. I was very frightened and felt I was getting in their way. There was little I could do for my son at that time and I felt useless and could not bond with this red scrap in the plastic box. He was ventilated for only five days and didn't need Cpap which made a big difference and he was a fighter from the start. He would pull out tubes so they put mittens on him but he would put them in his mouth and pull them off! I was finally able to hold him when he was a week old but he looked a bit like ET with his red SATS monitor on his hand!! It was only then I could really start to bond with him and I would sit by the incubator for hours just willing him to get stronger and better. Every day another milestone was reached, he would come off a medication or a tube would come out. I would attend every morning when the doctors would stand around and assess his care, willing them to tell me good news. After two weeks he was discharged from intensive care and allowed to travel back to Ashford where we would spend the next 8 weeks feeding him and weighing him, hoping to get him home in time for Christmas. He needed a blood transfusion at 9 weeks old as he wasn't feeding and was sleeping constantly but once he had that it was a different child, we could finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Suddenly though I realised i didn't want him to leave the hospital, he was safe there, his breathing monitored constantly, the temperature constant, qualified nurses and doctors close by, I was petrified at the thought of leaving our new home!
Flynn came home on the 22nd December 2003 just in time for Christmas as I had hoped!
Once we had settled in at home and our phone calls to the hospital were less frequent, we would check if we were doing everything right, it eventually felt like we were a family but it has taken me a very long time to come to terms with what happened to us and it is something only those who have experienced it can know. Having a premature baby is an ongoing experience, you constantly worry if what they went through will affect them later in life. Thankfully Flynn is a healthy, happy child and seems to have suffered no long term damage but it is something I would wish no-one should go through. We urgently need more research into why we have such high rates of premature birth and also better aftercare for mothers. My health visitor seemed to know little about prem babies or where to direct me. She should have got me in contact with other mums that had had a similar experience. I need to make something positive come out of my experience, if I can help others then it will help me come to terms with it.

Meet Minnie Mouse ( with attitude!) .....the "Darling" of the Nursery..

Meet Minnie Mouse ( with attitude!) .....the "Darling" of the Nursery..

She is, without a doubt, the sweetest little animal I have ever seen. She was born to a Heifer...a first time Mom who didn't know or understand what this adorable little black thing was, never mind that she was supposed to lick her, nurse her, Mother her, or bond with her. The first time I saw her, not long after her birth, she was lying on the floor in the Vet Room (so she could be fed and kept warm as it was very cold outside) and I thought oh my gosh she is so tiny, how can she survive without her Momma. I was surprised when she tried to stand up...she looked like a Weeble...you know "Weebles Wobble but they don't fall down"...except she fell...again and again...

Gordon and Wayne stood her up...Wayne held her and Gordon stuck a bottle of milk in her mouth...took her a minute to realize what it was...and then she guzzled it....wow...what a difference that made....I don't believe this little one would have made it if she hadn't gotten so much love from everyone.....she was born a twin...but her little brother didn't survive....sadness for him but great joy for her. My son Gordon, his wife Deona, Nevada and Colby just love all their animals so much....Deona and the kids kiss and hug everyone...they are so dedicated...I am glad they are experiencing all these great things in their life.

A day or so after Minnie's birth, a little bull calf who had been born a few weeks earlier and had major health issues since birth...died....so very sad.....Gordon and Deona decided to see If his Momma would adopt Minnie...they were both flabbergasted when she accepted her immediately...Minnie had a Momma!

So yesterday I went to Willow Springs Ranch to spend the day in the Nursery with all the new Mommas and their adorable babies. The Nursery is a pasture below the house where all the new calves and their Mommas are so they can all be together, away from everyone else, and easier to keep an eye on. What a time I had. Miss Minnie Mouse or Minnie Moo as I call her is certainly everyone's Darling....she ran from one calf to another licking them, butting them..she had a great time. The thing that surprised me the most was she went from one Momma to another grabbing a snack any time she wanted one...she didn't care if it was her Momma or not....the Mommas didn't care either...they let her suck!! I was truly amazed....usually cows will kick other calves away....but like I said...she's everybody's Darling! I had a wonderful day in the Nursery....can't wait to go again.
Minnie is a Registered Black Angus...her ear tag is almost bigger than she is.
T08 is her Daddy's number and T10 is her birth Momma..the yellow tag is an ID #...
W03 is her number...she was the 3rd calf born in 2009
(sorry for the long story...didn't realize it was so long)

Bonding: Building The Foundations Of Secure Attachment And Independence

The mighty bond between parent and child is one of the enduring wonders of psychology. John Kennell and Marshall and Phyllis Klaus bring decades of research, insight, and clinical practice into one book that offers parents, and those who care for them during pregnancy, everything they need to know to enhance this essential relationship. This important work explores the effects of various birth practices and situations?prenatal testing, labor support, testing of newborns, breast feeding, prematurity, and adoption?on the parents’ feelings and on the development of later attachment and independence.

Day 39 - Super Monkey Ball 2

Day 39 - Super Monkey Ball 2

Day 39 - Super Monkey Ball 2

Super Monkey Ball

...Man, Sega don't make 'em like they used too.

I was soo excited to get my Gamecube on launch day in 2002 (back when Games Console launches still took nearly a year to come to Europe from USA & Japan).

The internet was about starting to take off but at the time there was (none to my knowledge) not a place to go for reliable or informatie reviews. So the Gamecube was the last of my days were I'd go into a console launch not really knowing what was good.

I'd seen some basic stuff in "Gamesmaster" magazine that gave me some pictures and information on what genres each games were (useful on the ones that were less obvious), but still...the games I chose on launch day were pretty much a gamble in terms of whether they'd be good or bad.

Super Monkey Ball (1) was one of the best gambling pay outs I've ever had ^_^.

The idea of Super Monkey Ball is similar to that of "Marble Madness" or one of those games you'd get in a ?1 lucky bag where you'd have to roll the silver balls into a cardboard hole.

Very simple in design, but it opened the door to an amazing Action/ Puzzle game that many whom have played it had many MANY hours of good times.

The thing with classic Super Monkey Ball is that not only do you have an amazing single player mode... one that started you off with a light challenge and rose to some insane levels of difficulty. You also had the amazing party games too, most of these could be played in 1 player, but they ALL excelled in multi-player.

I chose "Super Monkey Ball 2" to get the spot on this list of mine due to it being a slight improvement over the original. More party games, more great level designs, and enough time had past to really get the most out of the original alone and with friends to be ready for more.

I still have the saves for both Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2, meaning I've still got all my old high scores on show, as well as my friends too. One thing that I hated about the next wave of Monkey Ball games was that they took away the name entry screen for high scores, meaning you couldn't be reminded of whom set what, which was a great little reason to keep going back to play. I had friends wanting to play if not to beat my score, but to beat my other friends, or simply to wedge in between 2 people and use the name "FUX" (you can see how that works out in between 2 other names >.<).

Games like Monkey Target, and Monkey Bowling, and Monkey Billiards are games I'd pay good money for on there own as a downloadable game on XBLA or something, but the packages as a whole were amazing pieces, and for a long time a good reason to own a Gamecube.

I really wish Sega/ Amusement Vision would go back to the formula they used for Super Monkey Ball's 1 & 2 as the games since have been either too easy, or simple novelties that don't capture the epic-ness of the originals.

Still...regardless of today, Super Monkey Ball will always be remembered by me and many like me as a freaking classic!

**
Oh and the "Dole" Banana's product placement in the game turned me into a big fan of "Dole" fruit products still to this day, they're not quite as common a fruit brand here (in the UK) as they are in other countries, so whenever I saw some "Dole" stuff I'd be reminded of Super Monkey Ball, as well as getting some of my '5 a day' fruit/ veg on.

respecting the right to....

respecting the right to....

be who you are and follow your beliefs.

*secret no. 29*

Like everyone out there, I am myself. But I also respect that others are different than me and have different views/ aspirations/ motivations/ goals/ actions/ etc. I'd like to believe that I'm relatively high on the scale of tolerant.

I am a midwestern democrat. I have a core midwestern attitude and values. I grew up working class and will likely remain there for the rest of my life :) unless the lotto comes through for me :) I have very wealthy friends who live in gigantic houses, never worry where the money comes from, and spend it like it's water. I have friends poorer than me, who hope they can feed their kids. I don't like either one less or more. Nor do I respect them any more or less. I honestly believe that no matter what you make or what your job, we all make a difference in this world. I will treat the janitor the same as the president- I admire you only that you are honest and you work hard at your life.

I am pro choice. I have co-workers and friends who are pro-life. I don't discuss this issue with them b/c while I can't understand removing my choice to choose, it doesn't make me dislike them or want to toss away their friendship. I have bathed, dressed, photographed and handed dead babies to women and men who have wanted those babies for all of eternity only to find they had no brain, missing organs, or a syndrome that is incompatible with life. I have watched their agony at deciding to end life and yet be appreciative of the fact that they have the choice. I have seen women with a strong sense of conviction for the right to life keep these babies full term knowing that they will be dead the moment thy hit the air. I deeply respect their belief in God and their strength to overcome the same loss of life.

I appreciate social services- the aid to those who are less fortunate that we may be.... If ever I'm feeling sad about not being able to buy that 24-70mm i remind myself that I can go to the store and buy the foods that I want without having to fear my children being hungry. Every year I give to a needy family- I did this even in college, when I was so poor that sometimes I didn't eat. I get angry a lot of times at work when the medicaid mom comes in with her 10th kid and has the nerve to tell me she doesn't have a car seat, a drop of formula, or any diapers for her baby at home. And yet it's not my place to judge whether or not she is more or less valid in her choice to have those babies or if she loves them less than someone richer.

I love that I get the choice to vote. The first time I voted was in 1992 and I get very excited to see people in line. I respect that we all have the right to make choices- whatever they may be. I don't think I have any close friends voting for McCain but that's not on purpose. I have numerous work friends that will vote for him and this week I have respected the considerate conversations we have had in the breakroom. I hope you all voted today. I wish all of our voices could/ would be respected by our friends and neighbors. Life will go on no matter who wins... I never voted for Bush and yet I've managed to make it for the last 8 years: with the birth of three great children, with the love of family and friends, and with a lot of hard work. Hurray to all who made it out today!! I hope your lines were not too long!

Explosion of Baby Clothes

We dragged out the "trunk o' baby clothes" and Andie and I went through it to see if anything would work for Juniper. We discovered LOTS of litte girl clothes, but only a few outfits for boys. I told Thomas, "What we can tell from this is that I was a well-dressed little girl, and you and William were just thrown to the wolves and left to fend for yourselves." T nodded sagely and said, "Yeah. This is very illuminating and explains a lot."

Five years before he achieved broadcast history with his legendary 1973 global satellite telecast, Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii, Elvis Presley brought a less grandiose but far more urgent mission to this Christmas season network special: isolated from his original audience after a long sojourn on Hollywood soundstages, and threatened by the vibrancy and social gravity of rock, the King sought nothing less than to reclaim his throne.
More than three decades later, what has since become known as Elvis: '68 Comeback Special looms as the Memphis icon's most substantial achievement as a stage performer. If the candy-colored sets and hyperactive choreography of its larger production numbers smack of its network packagers' desperation to be hip, Elvis himself rises to a riveting, assured performance at the peak of his powers. Looking fit and relaxed, and sheathed in black leather, he covers a shrewd song list encompassing early rockabilly hits, gospel (albeit rendered unintentionally hilarious by its florid dance routines), and comparatively restrained ballads.
Standout performances include two intimate stage sets that put him literally within his fans' reach, most strikingly in a brief reunion with four of his earliest bandmates (including guitarist Scotty Moore and drummer D.J. Fontana). The latter segment is only a brief sample of a session posthumously released on video as One Night with You, which is, if anything, even better than this terrific portrait of a towering American artist. --Sam Sutherland

Released in conjunction with a two-disc deluxe edition of Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii, the three-disc deluxe edition of Elvis's '68 Comeback Special is another incredible treasure trove of footage documenting a high point of the King's career and a milestone of televised musical performances. Taped and broadcast in 1968 after Elvis had seemingly abandoned live performing in favor of a movie career, the '68 Comeback Special was a remarkably intimate show, Elvis singing his old songs on a small stage, often alone, surrounded on all sides by a rapt audience. The show's numbers fall into three general categories: the black leather stand-up shows, in which Elvis performs solo on stage; the black leather sit-down shows, in which Elvis jams with former bandmates Scotty Moore and D.J. Fontana and others; and big production numbers, often overdone and now looking as dated as any other 1960s variety show.
In addition to the complete, uncut TV special (with the bordello number that was deemed too daring for TV), this DVD set includes both of the original stand-up shows and both of the original sit-down shows (the first was released mostly complete as One Night with You), and multiple takes of numerous production numbers. The numerous glitches and stumbles of the production numbers have limited replay value, but the complete stand-up and sit-down sessions are like gold for those who couldn't get enough of them during the 73-minute television special. Decades after the original telecast, Elvis has made another comeback. --David Horiuchi

I love how this set is called the Disney's Animator's Collection. It sounds so classy. LOL It looks like they all have an individual headmold, which is amazing. I want that Ariel! I also love that some of the girls are not in their "signature outfits."
